identified as the major factor in premature ageing:As an industry we are well aware of this, and thankfully Horizon agreed and gave a detailed explanation about just how big an impact UVA has on our skin. This included a study of truck drivers' wrinkles comparing the left and right sides of the face and how the 'window side' tended to have many more wrinkles. We know UVA is only partially blocked out by windows so we are not fully protected in our offices or cars.  MAAs:
the way Fish & Coral protect themselves against UVA:Coral and some algaes are rich in Mycosporine-like Amino Acids (MAAs). These MAAs are nature's answer to protecion against daily UVA damage. After all, UVA penetrates water so coral and algae living just below the surface need protection. Fish obtain MAAs as part of their diet of coral plants and algaes ( big fish eat the little fish who eat the algae). BBC Horizon concluded that: * MAAs absorb UVA and a large proportion of UVB. * MAAs are better absorbed by skin cells than conventional UV filters. Horizon focused on 'Squids eyes' as their source of MAAs. Luckily, we have a more suitable option......
